Holiday glam hair & makeup in under 30 minutes

Holiday glam but fast…

This holiday is going to be quite different for the majority of us. Most likely a little more intimate than years past, although that doesn’t mean you can’t get a little dolled up! I showed the tail end of my makeup and a quick hair tutorial over on my IG. Click here to take a look: My Instagram

I did my hair and makeup in under 30 minutes and you can too! Doing a little “glam” always lifts my spirits and definitely helps to put me into the holiday mood. Read on for more details on exactly how I got the look.

Eyes:

I use this eye primer that helps the eye-shadow last as it’s waterproof and also makes it go on smoother and the colors brighter. Next, I used this eyeshadow palette which I love.

Face:

Everyday I use this loose setting powder —it blends and blurs your makeup for a perfect finish.

Lips:

Next, I used MAC Lip liner in the color Soar. MAC lipstick and lip gloss in ‘Please Me’.

Hair:

I always try to remember to start with a heat protectant, I use this one and LOVE it (smells great and works well). This is the curling iron I use. I have tried a ton and this one works the best for me. Aside from it being the exact one my hair stylist uses on my hair, it just so happened to work the best on me. My curls last longer and I can do my hair faster than with other ones. I have even tried very expensive curlings irons (such as T3) and this one is better, IMO. Due to it being made of titanium, it heats up really fast and titanium helps to hold in moisture which is important because excessive heat styling can cause hair to become dry and brittle, which no one wants that!

Styling tip:

When curling your hair, you always want to curl away from your face- it just looks nicer, trust me. Wrap each section of hair with your curling iron and count to 10, at least that is what works for me! At the end wait 3-5 minutes before brushing out your curly sue curls. You need to let your curls set or else you may lose the curl. (don’t make that mistake and waste your time!) When your hair molecule is hot it is able to bend and take on other shapes, thus why heat works to make curls but if you wait until your hair is cold and not hot to the touch, it is set and will stay in that curled shape longer. Once it’s set, I like to use this brush. The boar bristles help with shine, improve growth and reduce breakage. Lastly, I set my hair with this hairspray. It gives the perfect flexible hold; it’s movable yet the perfect amount of firmness and the best part to me is that it’s not sticky at all (doesn’t feel like anything is in your hair).

Part of the reason, I was able to complete this so fast is because I didn’t go crazy, I didn’t do contouring or fake lashes. This is a simple, fast, but still glam look that anyone can do to feel their very best! We may not be going to any big holiday parties but you can still look and feel your best while not taking hours to get ready!
