Guide to the Sephora holiday savings event
Top 5 products I can’t live without
It’s that time of year again- the Sephora Holiday Savings Event! Rouge (20% off started already, 10/30-11/9), VIB (my tier, which is 15% off and starts tomorrow 11/3 through 11/9) and Insider (10% off starts 11/5-11/9)
OK, so let’s start with the fact that I am not a licensed esthetician, nor a professional makeup artist, however, I sure do love both makeup/skincare and I buy A LOT of it. As a big consumer, I’ll share with you what I found WORKS and is worth the money. These are products that are tried and true; products I have been using for years or months—nothing that I just started because I would never promote a product that I haven’t really experienced fully. So here we go (in order of my love for the products):
1. IGK First Class Dry Shampoo : this has been desperately needed, especially being at home so often and washing your hair being a pleasure and not a necessity. This Dry Shampoo will bring life, volume and cleanliness back to your hair. IT TRULY works. I have tried many others, trying to find a less expensive option but nothing has come anywhere close. I will say that with dark hair, it does leave a white residue but as long as you know before you use it, it’s really no big deal. You spray it and leave it in your hair for a few minutes then just rub it in vigorously with your fingers, it’s really magical! Because my hair is so dark, I tend to spray it in before bed then in the morning the white residue subsides and it is less work to rub it all in when I wake up.
2. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder : In all honestly, this is really a tie with the dry shampoo but for ranking purposes I will allow it to come in second place, although I use this every. single. day! This setting powder will really change your life. Once you start using it to set your makeup, there is no going back. Once I am done with all of my makeup, I put this on at the end and it really just blends all of your makeup in perfectly, while setting your face so that your makeup lasts all day. It mattifies and works to blur any imperfections. Although, I find it to be a little pricey, it really lasts a very long time. I had my first powder for almost 10 months! It really is the perfect last step in any makeup routine!
3. GrandeLash Lash Enhancing Serum : I have been using this product now for about 8 months and have seen a dramatic difference in my lashes. After having the baby, my lashes were the shortest they have ever been (it was alarming lol), so as soon as I was done with breastfeeding, I started to use this and I am SO glad I did. For me, it really works and I am sticking to it, I just ordered my third bottle recently. This serum has L-Proline in it, which is an amino acid known to help to heal and fortify your lashes.
4. bareMinerals Skinlongevity Serum : I am absolutely LOVING the results of this serum. After about a week and a half of using this, I saw a big difference in my skin. It was softer, more glowy and brighter! Niacinamide is known to brighten skin and is high up in the ingredient list for this serum (third ingredient in)- which means that there is a good amount of it in the product.
5. Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask : Last, but not least is this lip mask. I have found it to invigorate my lips, bringing much needed hydration to them so I put it on every night before bed and my lips feel very hydrated and supple in the morning. Although, it’s great- If I substituted for another lip balm before bed, I think I would survive hence its #5 ranking.
