Full Review of LANEIGE Sleeping Lip Mask vs. Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask
Find out which one I prefer…
I was using the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask for over a month and started to run low. I had been deliberating on if I wanted to try the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask instead, so I threw out a poll on Instagram to see if people had tried/liked LANEIGE as well. After the results were in, I decided to give LANEIGE a try. I wanted to give it a true trial run before sharing my opinion so I have been using LANEIGE exclusively, every night, for 2 weeks. Let’s talk comparison:
I created a chart to show the major differences below. In my opinion, both work very well, offering the same amount of hydration and overall effectiveness. In addition to those facts, LANEIGE comes in a variety of scents: Berry, Gummy Bear, Vanilla, Apple Lime, and Sweet Candy. I tried Berry and loved it, however if you prefer no scent, Tatcha is the better option for you. I went with berry though because of the Berry Mix Complex ingredient which offers a blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts (all great for lip hydration); that along with the Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid is a winning combination to me. Tatcha’s key ingredients are peach/rose extract and Japanese Camellia Oil. Peach extract is a great ingredient but more for skin than lips: it’s real star power is that It includes natural forms of vitamin A to firm up skin and improve dark spots, vitamin C to help fade scarring and fight free radicals, vitamin E to protect our skin from environmental stressors, as well as vitamins B and K, minerals, fatty acids, and more antioxidants to increase brightening and decrease hyperpigmentation. And it contains calcium, which helps to turn skin cells over but again, all of that is better suited for skincare than lips. That star in LANEIGE’s ingredients is the integrated Moisture Wrap Technology, which features a mineral network of moisture-rich beta-glucan to form an eight-hour time-release moisturizing layer over skin; locks in active ingredients and mineral water. This is a big one for me when it comes to lips because you do mostly wear it to sleep and it does continue to work through the night.
Another factor to point out is that I did like the applicator for LANEIGE better than Tatcha as well. It is a soft flexible rubber material that in my opinion, works better. Tatcha’s works sufficiently but is just a plain plastic applicator.
With all of that in mind, both are very good and deliver on what they promise, so you really can’t go wrong with either one! However, if I had to pick just one, LANEIGE is the winner: you get more product for less money, so it’s the clear choice for me.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
